Atlas Copco completes Leybold vacuum acquisition

Stockholm, Sweden, September 1, 2016: Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has completed the acquisition of the Leybold vacuum business.

Leybold is headquartered in Cologne, Germany, has about 1600 employees, and had revenues in 2015 of MEUR 340 (MSEK 3 150). The agreement to acquire Leybold was announced on November 20, 2015. The purchase price was based on an enterprise value of MEUR 486 (MSEK 4 520). The seller is OC Oerlikon Corporation AG, based in Switzerland. Leybold's vacuum solutions are used to create clean, particle-free environments for such applications as automotive, metallurgy, coating of microchips, and the manufacturing of analytical instruments.
