Atlas Copco appoints new executives for Industrial Technique and the Asia Pacific region

Stockholm, August 18, 1997

Gunnar Palme has been appointed Senior Executive Vice President for the Business Area Industrial Technique within Atlas Copco. Mr Palme joined Atlas Copco in 1980 and has since then held a number of domestic and international positions. Presently, Mr Palme is President for the Division Industrial Tools and Equipment. The Business Area Industrial Technique manufactures and sells among other things power tools, assembly systems and motion control products to the manufacturing industry including the automotive industry. In 1996, Industrial Technique had sales of more than SEK 8 billion.  Arthur J. Droege has been appointed Regional Executive Asia Pacific and leader of Group Projects in Asia. Mr Droege joined Atlas Copco in 1976 in the U.S.. Presently, he is President for the Division Oilfree Air, the largest division within the Business Area Compressor Technique.
