Stockholm, Sweden, March 21, 2014: Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, was again recognized as one of the world’s most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute. Presented at the Global Ethics Summit in New York, the list includes companies that demonstrate leadership in such areas as ethics, corporate responsibility, sustainability and governance.
Ethics are at the core of Atlas Copco’s way of doing business. This is manifested in many areas, such as the Group’s zero tolerance against corruption. In its strive against corruption, Atlas Copco uses for example policies, procedures, training and monitoring.
Another area where ethics play a central role is purchasing. To promote ethics and human rights, suppliers are evaluated on safety, health, environmental and other ethical concerns.
“We constantly train our employees to think ethically and develop the business in a long-term, sustainable way,” said Håkan Osvald, Senior Vice President General Counsel at Atlas Copco. “We are convinced it is the right thing to do as well as good for business.”
Atlas Copco is a signatory to the UN Global Compact, a policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.
