February 15, 2007

Stockholm, Sweden, February 15, 2007: Atlas Copco has established a fully-owned customer center in Tanzania, to strengthen its presence in the region and to support its strong growth. The new company has 25 employees.

The new customer center, Atlas Copco Tanzania Ltd., will focus on mining customers and offers compressors and generators as well as mining and construction equipment and related aftermarket activities.  “The growing opportunities in the country show that it is now time to have the right set-up that will support Atlas Copco’s development. With the opening of the new customer center in Tanzania, we are strengthening our presence and reinforcing our commitment to further growth in the region,”says Björn Rosengren, Business Area President, Atlas Copco Construction and Mining Technique business area.   In 2002, Atlas Copco opened its branch office in Tanzania. Today, Atlas Copco expects to experience a strong increase in customer share, especially from the mining customers, and has therefore established a customer center in the country to serve them better.   Atlas Copco Tanzania will remain under the responsibility of Atlas Copco Eastern Africa’s regional office based in Nairobi, Kenya.
