Building on a legacy: Water for All's progress in Peru since the 40th anniversary

Over 2,800 people from the district of Chulucanas, Piura, located in the northern part of Peru, now have access to drinkable water sources thanks to Water for All, Atlas Copco Group’s global initiative that aims to improve the quality of life by securing access to clean water.

This project, executed in Peru in collaboration with Save the Children, has allowed access to clean water and transformed the community’s infrastructure, improving sanitation and hygiene conditions. Also, the project has managed to implement educational programs to strengthen the knowledge in the correct use of water, prevention of illnesses and menstrual hygiene. These actions will ensure that the community has a proper use of the resources and that the health risks are minimized.

In early April, a site visit was conducted to meet beneficiaries and inspect the new community infrastructure. Representatives from Save The Children together with ambassadors from Water for All Peru, Carlos Caballero (Human Resources Manager) and Laura Machicao (Marketing and Communications Manager) attended. During the visit, Richar Bacca, the Mayor of Morropón Chulucanas, attended and expressed his gratitude for the project's achievements.

Meet the beneficiaries

This Project is a clear example of how teamwork and commitment can create a real impact in the communities. Now, more families in Chulucanas will have access to safe drinkable water, which will contribute to a better quality of life and welfare to all
