Atlas Copco to acquire German calibration specialist

Stockholm, Sweden, February 25, 2015: Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has agreed to acquire Kalibriercentrum Bayern, which specializes in calibration services.
Kalibriercentrum Bayern, which is headquartered near Munich with an additional laboratory in Kiel, Germany, has 27 employees and annual revenue of about MEUR 3 (MSEK 28). The privately-owned company provides laboratory and field calibration and related services to customers in such industries as motor vehicle manufacturing and aerospace.

“With this acquisition we will expand our service offering to industrial customers, initially in Germany and later in other markets,” said Mats Rahmström, President for Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique business area. “It will give us the opportunity to serve our customers even better and further help them increase their productivity.”

The acquired company will become part of the Service division in Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique business area.
The acquisition is expected to be finalized during the first quarter of 2015.
