The role

Welcome to our Automation Innovation Center!

My name is Felix Bertelsmeier, I’m the team leader of the Automation Innovation Center and will be your manager. You will be located in Darmstadt together with our R&D team and will be involved in every step of the way – from initial idea to first concepts and prototypes up to the final products.
The position will be a key role in the large automation initiative from Atlas Copco with the focus on automated tightening solutions, focusing on manufacturing industry. Your mission includes:

• Take charge of our software platform, driving its evolution and excellence
• Implementing a long- and short-term development plan, in close collaboration with your product marketing colleagues
• You’ll manage our talented software team, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient project execution
• Facilitate daily meetings, fostering communication and alignment
• Dive into code reviews and actively contribute to the technical aspects of our projects
• Define together with the Team the Software Architecture of the future flexible software platform
• Regular reporting of development and design status to the team leader of the Automation Innovation Center and steering group
• Maintaining a close customer relationship to ensure targeted and customer-oriented product development
• Building a global network and work as an interface between internal involved departments and external partners

What we expect of you?

• A degree in computer science or a related field
• Proven track record in agile software development
• Experience coordinating and leading software developers
• Expertise in C/C++ (Or other high-level software) and hands-on experience with software development for Linux and Windows
• An entrepreneurial mindset with a structured approach to planning and follow-up
• Innovative, following technology trends, in close cooperation with the customer
• Very good in English speaking and writing
• Team player with good communication skills with different stakeholders, at all levels of hierarchy
