This is a key new position within the PC Haverhill engineering organization and this individual will be a part of the Systems and Test Engineering team. This team member will provide strategic inputs on; and will own all tactical responsibilities related to product performance verification, validation and test specification release to manufacturing. They will be regarded as the SME for product verification and validation at PC Haverhill and will be the focal point for guidance for design engineers, technologists and others for all things related to V&V. Their inputs will also be critical for project managers and engineering management (estimation of resources and timelines). They will work closely with the Laboratory Test Engineering team to help train, guide and mentor Laboratory Test Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Understand design requirements and help formulate comprehensive test plans that encompass functional as well as customer/application specific product performance and lifetime requirements
- Analyze test data and provide data driven recommendation to the design team to help verify, validate and improve product performance
- Deliver comprehensive test reports to help ensure that all aspects of the V&V activity for the project are captured and there is no ambiguity about the test data, conclusions and recommendations
- Delivers comprehensive Manufacturing Test Specification for new products to be released for production
- Support product hand-off for production by guiding the manufacturing engineering team in implementing production tests
- Responsible for all tactical aspects of test plan execution/implementation including coordinating with other functions for use of shared laboratory resources
- Collaborate with, mentor and train lab engineers and technicians to develop advanced electro-mechanical test systems including writing custom programs in LabView/Python or similar; to augment, automate and increase coverage of existing test infrastructure
- Responsible for providing estimates on test resources for projects (time, resources and infrastructure) during project planning and resourcing phase
- Collaborate with other Product Companies (and Divisions) within Atlas Copco to understand and help implement best in class test practices and infrastructure
WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOU...
In support of our new technology development of cryogenic systems used in semiconductor and industrial applications, we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering with 3+ experience
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering with 2+ experience
- Strong analytical, creative problem solving, critical thinking (first principles thinking) and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to summarize complex data/results into clear, concise and actionable recommendation to the broader engineering team
- Ability to work well with cross functional teams and build consensus within the broader engineering organization
- Experience with statistical tools for data reduction and analysis
- Experience with DOE, hypothesis testing and/or similar methods
- Desired understanding of relevant regulatory and compliance standards such as SEMI, UL, CE and PED
- Ability to program in LabView/Python or similar for test development, automation, data acquisition, and data processing
- Desired experience working with ultra-high vacuum and cryogenic equipment
- Must have hands on experience with the use (setup, calibration) of common measurement devices such as power supplies, multimeters, flowmeters, thermocouples, pressure transducers, diodes (and similar)
- Demonstrated ability to work with the system engineering and, product design, to translate product requirements into comprehensive test plans
- Ability to work on multiple engagements/assignments in parallel while delivering high quality results
