Your role

Your mission is to provide high-quality service engineering solutions to global Service Technology Centers and Field Service organizations to promote the sustainable and profitable growth of VTS. This includes a particular focus on New Product Introductions (NPI) and Design for Service. The position works closely with various teams, including Product Companies, to ensure that all newly introduced products can be utilized by the global service organization as a standard.

As Service Development Engineer you will report into Technical Group Lead

  • You will manage the NPI (new product introduction) service requirements of new equipment and processes including documentation, tooling or training into the global Service organization. This includes the creation and update of SOP’s, parts manuals, training plan, test documentation and equipment.
  • You will review the current and future NPI capacity requirements, createProduct Launch Plan which will include the product description (e.g. technical data, sales & repair volumes, project costs, roll-out justification, materials and tooling).
  • You will make sure that all NPI documents and procedures have been approved and are available in latest status via the Service organization websites.
  • You will communicate and collaborate with peers, reviewing business requirements with Line Manager and inform internal stakeholders of any changes or new requirements.
  • You will participate in NPI project design reviews and engage with NPI teams with a Design for Service focus.
  • You will cooperate with technical support teams in complex requests for existing service vacuum portfolio

To succeed, you need

  • Completed university degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification
  • Relevant professional experience in manufacturing, engineering, or servicing of industrial equipment (rotating machinery)
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Experience in project management or technical support
  • Intercultural competence
  • Experience with SAP ERP, good to advanced skills in Office 365 and Visio
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new IS/IT systems and processes
  • Fluency in English is a must, German is an advantage
