Mission –
Reporting to the Sustaining Team Manager, contribute to the creation of cutting-edge semiconductor abatement products. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in defining and refining product requirements, managing the product roadmap, and overseeing the development process.
Main Responsibilities
- To participate in HAZOP/DFMEA studies and use risk analysis techniques according to best practice ensuring that resulting actions are included in a verification test plan, factory acceptance test or final test and commissioning document.
- To carry out/participate in and record risk assessments as required in the execution of a project.
- To support the introduction of new products onto the factory flow line and where necessary on customers’ sites.
- To ensure engineering changes are concluded in accordance with the planned schedule.
- Type testing and compliance testing of designs, including design of experiment.
- Perform engineering calculations and undertake medium to complex FEAs in support of the design.
- Design Engineering – to design and develop all mechanical aspects of a product range.
- Design Reviews – to participate in design reviews (specification, concept, model and critical).
- To generate innovative ideas and contribute to new processes and product improvements.
- To escalate any foreseen technical risks to the senior development engineer.
Experience & Skills
- A minimum 2:2 Engineering degree or demonstrated industry experience with other engineering qualifications. Mechotronics or mixed Mechanical with strong knowledge of electrical or electronics is prefered.
- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical design concepts and system testing.
- Familiarity with safety assessments, compliance standards, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in product development methodologies, including requirements gathering, design, validation, and manufacturing transition.
- Experience with system characterisation, testing, and failure analysis techniques.
- Good communicator and have excellent fluency in spoken and written English.
- Strong communication skills, organisational awareness, and impact.
