Group-wide climate events

By setting science-based targets we have committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, both direct and indirect, in line with the Paris Agreement. A positive effect of setting ambitious targets is that they inspire new ways of thinking and new initiatives. Learn about the Group-wide climate events we have organized to raise awareness and inspire climate action.

Climate Hackathon 2023

End of 2023 we set our employees a challenge to generate ideas on how we, as a Group, can reduce our climate impact. Running throughout November the Climate Hackathon saw around 10,000 employees from 54 countries worldwide take part in interactive workshops which generated almost 2,500 ideas!

Climate Hackathon 2023

All employees were invited to participate in the Climate Hackathon to inspire each other and share great climate action ideas across the organization. The generated ideas were submitted through an app on the intranet, making them available to everyone within the Group. As a result, our employees showed a lot of commitment by engaging, liking and commenting on the ideas.

A large variety of climate action ideas were submitted, for example relating to circular business models, electrification of machinery used at our sites, CO2 calculations, 3D printing and business travel.

Anna Sjoren, Vice President Sustainability

The Climate Hackathon was very well received by the organization and it’s fantastic to see the engagement and creativity among our employees all over the world! We can already see actions being taken and I am confident that this initiative will continue to have a positive impact both short-term and long-term.

Global climate awareness event 2022

In November 2022, we arranged a global climate awareness event to give all employees the opportunity to learn more about climate change, our science-based targets for reduced emissions, and how we can enable a low-carbon society.
