
Process Development Engineer - Machining
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and industrialize machining processes that improve safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and net working capital.
- Lead process development initiatives in close cooperation with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance.
- Define and execute a roadmap to achieve a state-of-the-art machine shop, including tooling, automation, and digitalization.
- Define strategies for machine park expansion, including reuse or transfer of machines from other entities.
- Drive productivity improvements through lean manufacturing, process optimization, layout improvements, and targeted investments.
- Develop and maintain an outsourcing vs. in-house manufacturing strategy for subcomponents.
- Prepare and present business cases and investment proposals for management.
- Ensure optimal machine utilization and capacity loading.
- Introduce digital tools, process monitoring, and data-driven controls where applicable.
- Define, track, and continuously improve KPIs for lead time, capacity, cost, and performance.
- Interact and exchange with other machining entities within the division and the BA.
To succeed, you will need
Required Knowledge / Experience:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in machining and/or assembly environments.
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of machine shop operations and process development.
- Proven experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and industrialization.
- Strong analytical skills and structured project management capability.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at different levels.
- Excellent English communication skills (knowledge of Kannada and/or Hindi is a strong advantage)
- Work experience within an international environment is an asset
