Your role

- Develop, maintain, audit, and report on the continuous quality improvement system for all products at the Bay Minette plant.
- Ensure the BMA plant’s compliance with ISO 9000 by collaborating with staff and operations to enhance product quality and reduce quality-related costs.
- Lead the development of an Annual Budget and a Three-Year Strategic Plan for the Quality Assurance Department aligned with the Division’s Strategic Plan.
- Manage the department’s operating budget, monitor performance and budget variances, and implement corrective actions to meet objectives.
- Adhere to Division, Group, and Corporate policies, procedures, and directives, integrating Quality Assurance activities with other Division departments.
- Maintain BMA plant compliance with ISO-9000 by establishing a plant Quality Manual reflecting the Quincy Compressor Quality Policy Statement, emphasizing continuous process improvement.
- Enhance the efficiency and utilization of the Quality Assurance workforce by identifying and implementing improved gauges, equipment, methods, procedures, layouts, and facilities.
- Develop, establish, and enforce rigorous standards consistent with the company’s Quality Policy Statement.
- Maintain systems to strictly control non-conforming materials in the shop, ensuring timely disposition.
- Provide monthly reports on key quality performance indicators to the BMA management team.
- Inspect and audit manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes of all BMA plant products to ensure compliance with established standards and ISO 9000 specifications.
- Collaborate with existing business systems and the Quincy plant to define and develop computer-based programs that enhance management of quality-related information, including vendor certification and performance.
- Promote safe and clean working conditions by actively supporting division safety, housekeeping, and loss prevention programs.
- Structure and staff the Quality Assurance Department to foster personnel development and growth through effective selection, training, assignments, and delegation of authority.
- Align departmental and individual objectives, goals, and work plans with other plant functions, ensuring consistency in performance evaluations and salary actions within established division guidelines.

To succeed, you will need

- A degree in Engineering (Manufacturing or Industrial) is preferred.
- Candidates should have 1-3 years of verifiable experience in quality assurance.
- Experience in manufacturing or machine shop environments is advantageous.
- Educational background should include studies in statistics, management, and experimental design.
- Certification as an ISO 9000/2000 Lead Auditor is required.
