The most important characteristic of our Field/Onsite Engineer is the ability to role model and apply deep domain and technical expertise to successfully lead and deliver our most complex operational tasks and commitments.  You are able to provide the highest levels of field service support, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Edwards products, with key areas of focus being on safety and quality while ensuring strong levels of customer satisfaction. Coaching and continuous support of other team members to help deliver against customer expectations is also a requirement of this role. 

The Field Service Engineer accomplishes this mission by: 

1) Performing complex customer support activities including but not limited to installation, modification, repair and preventive maintenance tasks of Edwards Vacuum- and Abatement equipment and systems to ensure proper working order. 

2) Working without direct supervision following established policies and procedures to ensure company and customer quality standards are met.  

Engineers and experienced technicians are expected to deliver a superior customer experience by exhibiting our core principles.

What you will do

  • First -time installation and commissioning of Edwards products and the set up and operation of software products and monitoring platforms.  
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and fault-finding to identify and resolve issues. This includes software and controls interrogation, limited configurations, and loading Edwards software applications to resolve or escalate issues within contractual timeframes and meet customer expectations. 
  • Performing service and maintenance of customer equipment according to Edwards global standards, including preparation, follow-up, and documentation of activities in our internal systems, to ensure complete customer satisfaction.  
  • Works alongside teammates, demonstrating situational risk awareness for on-the-job Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) practices, while providing strong support to teammates. Adheres to all relevant aspects of the risk control elements associated with all field service activities. 
  • Analysing data readouts from our products and working with our engineering specialists to implement continuous performance improvements.  
  • Ensuring quality assurance of site assets and processes, including situational risk awareness, maintenance of installed base data, and ownership of preparing and delivering physical and documented outcomes.  
  • Leveraging your expertise in technology, processes, and networking to support teammates. Provide guidance, mentoring, and direction to junior team members to help develop their skills and ensure best practices are followed in all field service actions and activities.  
  • Being an Edwards Champion and lead generator – Driving leads from customer sites based on client requirements and product upgrade possibilities to contribute to regional business growth.  
  • Support our customers in the selection of suitable products, as well as service products and solutions.
