Atlas Copco has acquired German developer of augmented reality solutions

Nacka, Sweden, July 4, 2023: Atlas Copco has acquired Extend3D GmbH, a company that develops and produces augmented reality worker guidance for industry customers, using laser and video projection.
The company has 16 employees. It was founded in 2010, and is based in Munich, Germany. In 2022, the company had revenues of approximately 3 MEUR (32 MSEK*).
Extend3D GmbH develops and produces augmented reality systems including 3D video and laser projectors, supporting manufacturing processes in Industry 4.0. The company has customers mainly within automotive, large transportation, aerospace and general industry.
“This acquisition will enhance our offering in process and quality control by leveraging a diverse portfolio of augmented reality products designed specifically for assembly operations with high complexity and high demand on quality,” said Henrik Elmin, Business Area President, Industrial Technique.
The purchase price is not disclosed.
The acquired business becomes part of the Motor Vehicle Industry Division within the Industrial Technique Business area.
