Kerstin Matiasson
Operations Manager Special Production, Atlas Copco Industrial Technique
Tell us a little about yourself and what drives/motivates you in your career?
I live with my family in Roslagen and have a degree in process chemistry. At the beginning of my career, I worked in process development and as a process specialist, and then moved on to become a manager and leader in technology-heavy industries, first in the paper industry and I started 9 years ago at Atlas Copco. I have always enjoyed working in production and with the people who work in manufacturing. Today I work in a more cross-functional ways and find it interesting to look at the whole business from what is happening in the market, the development of products and processes of production, logistics and finance. I am motivated by learning new things and taking part in developing the business with others to achieve a common goal, working to ensure that our products and processes get a little better all the time and making sure that people in the team have a chance to develop themselves.
What can a mentor contribute to a person's career and how can you help?
A mentorship is built on mutual trust and certainly contributes to personal development, both for the mentor and the mentee. There are opportunities to brainstorm ideas and thoughts and see opportunities from different perspectives. The mentorship also allows participants to expand their network.
