We are seeking a talented and innovative Technology Engineer to help us drive the future of additive manufacturing.

Atlas Copco consists of four business areas, one of which is Compressor Technique. The headquarters for this business area is located in Antwerp, Belgium. As part of the compressor technique business area, our Additive Manufacturing activities are also based in Antwerp.

With activities in polymer, metal ànd sand Additive Manufacturing we exploit the potential of AM in prototyping, tooling visualizations, rapid product development and serial production.

Job description

Your main responsibilities will consist of:

• You will be responsible for research projects which aim to demonstrate AM in a broad sense. These projects can be internal, or executed in cooperation with other companies, universities and/or institutes.
• You support our Additive Manufacturing operations with your process knowledge and AM network.
• You follow up on AM market trends, evolutions and new technological developments, and translate those to the needs of the company.
• You will be responsible for product development projects in order to develop new products where AM can bring an added value.
• You coordinate with other AM point of contacts in the other business areas.
• You have a role in setting up a roadmap for Additive Manufacturing in Atlas Copco compressor Technique.
• You will support the design team with in-depth process knowledge on both polymer, metal and sand AM.
• You are the first point of contact within Atlas Copco Compressor Technique for services and solutions in AM. You will deliver AM as a service to our internal customers. Typical services are training, consultation, troubleshooting, co-development,…
• You need to disseminate your competence on AM and translate it to the needs of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique.
• You need to continuously promote a culture of innovation and encourage collaboration
• You will build up a strong external network outside the company, with universities, institutes, suppliers and consultants You will be reporting to the Teamleader of the New Manufacturing technologies team.

Knowledge & experience

• Master degree in engineering or science, preferably in Additive Manufacturing.
• Additive Manufacturing: knowledge on the different technologies and processes.
• A clear view on the AM market and technological developments
• Knowledge of CAD software is considered as a plus
• Material knowledge is considered as a plus
• Experience in project management.
• Good command of English. Dutch is considered as a plus.
