Atlas Copco is a Swedish multinational industrial company that was founded in 1873. It manufactures industrial tools and equipment’s. The Atlas Copco Group is a global industrial.        

group of companies headquartered in Nacka, Sweden.

We are a Engineering Service Provider company within Atlas Copco Group (Captive Engineering centre) called Global Engineering Centre India Airpower (GECIA). In recent 5+ years, we are also focusing on Digital transformation Technologies for Data Driven Decisions, Web and Applications developments, Automations, Embedded Technology etc.

Data Analytics Competence is the competence withing this Digital Technology Practice of GECIA.

Purpose / Mission

As Team Leader – Data Engineer your mission is to lead from the front, the Data Engineering team of GECIA to deliver projects and solutions related to Data Engineering and Data Visualisation. Also lead the technological advancement and drive the technical competence in teams at Global Engineering Centre of Atlas Copco, to become and remain preferred partner for Data driven business insights and intelligence.

You shall achieve this, by driving Innovation and adoption of emerging technologies, developing talent, and achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Focus

  • Anticipate emerging needs of customer and align business processes and resources to meet those needs
  • Enhance customer satisfaction levels by driving a customer-focused culture and developing new portfolio and services in conjunction with the Service Delivery Head and Business Head to better meet customer needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with all customers and stakeholders from business team of GECIA
  • Prompt and proactive communication with all stakeholders
  • Building and implementing effective governance mechanism to ensure tracking, progress and update on projects, proposals and business engagement  
  • Create & maintain various Dashboards to Control, Monitor & Improve on key KPI related to Quality, Delivery, and the cost parameters
  • Ensure GECIA’s contribution towards technological advances
  • Ensure dedicated resources / team availability for the customers
  • Develop new service offerings and drive business for the same
  • Develop and coach team members from Business team on technical aspects and competence of Data Engineering team for effective communication with customers as first point of contact from GECIA for DA

  • Promote Cross-Pollination of the technologies by representing GECIA at various internal and external Technology forums
  • Develop infrastructure needed and leverage India ecosystem (Universities, Start-ups, Partners) for meaningful Innovative solution with quantifiable business impact
  • Propose plans to bridge the competency gaps and oversee the implementation of technology solutions throughout the Competence

Operational Excellence

  • Create, Develop & Maintain a Resource Planning Mechanism to deliver optimum resource utilization
  • Ensure the Costs per hour remains as targeted by the Management
  • Bring Transparency in resource Planning to indicate the Resource Occupancy on different Projects and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Identify and plan resource and infrastructure needs required to successfully execute project deliveries.
  • Develop and refine solution offerings, requirements definition and estimation process for effective delivery management.
  • Identify and implement the process improvements related to project management, client interactions, etc. to achieve the business goals.
  • Effectively lead the team to ensure high project billability, profitability, and revenue realization with a focus on quality delivery
  • Identify and engage business partners based on competence / customer needs
  • Identify and plan resource and infrastructure needs required to successfully execute project deliveries.
  • Develop and refine solution offerings, requirements definition and estimation process for effective delivery management.
  • Identify and implement the process improvements related to project management, client interactions, etc. to achieve the business goals.
  • Effectively lead the team to ensure high project billability, profitability, and revenue realization with a focus on quality delivery

 Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

   Skills and Experience

  • Any Graduate (B.E. / B.Tech/MCA/MTech/BSc/MSc/MCS) in Engineering with 10 plus years or similar core experience in Data Engineering/Data Analytics/Team management field , projects and tools.(Data Engineering domain).
  • People Management experience of handling large reporting team is preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing, managing, and building teams for Data Engineering
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
  • Hands on experiences in following areas related to Data Engineering and Visualization
  • Prior experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
  • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g.  Python,)
  • Hands-on experience with SQL database design
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Great numerical and analytical skills
  • Data engineering certification is a plus.
  • Exposure to Azure technology is a must.
  • Database, Data Warehouse, ETL Processes Design
  • Expertise in data modelling, data governance, data cataloguing, management of metadata, Data lineage, Data quality and data reconciliation
  • Database Analysis, SQL Server Development, and perform SQL Server Development, Requirement Gathering & Analysis, Unit Testing and Live Deployment

Must have:

  • Knowledge of Azure Data Bricks, Azure Data factory, SQL, Python, PySpark, ETL
  • Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Azure/Power BI applications
  • Team management and resourcing
  • You are fluent in English: both written and spoken.
  • Process management.
  • Hands on experiences in following areas related to Data Engineering and Visualization
    • Prior experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
    • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques

    • Experience with Power BI

Nice to have.

  • Experience with Data Science projects, AI and ML.
  • Knowledge of Agile methiodides with JIRA/SVN
  • Data engineering certification

Knowledge

  • You have strong technical knowledge, specific knowledge of the Data Analysis tools, methodologies, reporting etc.
  • Good analytical skills: You feel comfortable working with numbers/data, e.g. collecting and analysing trend graphs, combining the info with insights from ERP and previous site visits, … to come to a sound conclusion.
