Your Role

Roles & Responsibilities

• Tender, negotiate, purchase, supplies, services (machining, fabrication, calibration), equipment, raw materials for inventory and non-stock items per QA requirements, and Engineering and Customer Specifications.
• Help vendors to develop and improvise the QAPs and ITPs.
• Preparation of Purchase Orders and supporting documentation
• Preliminary sourcing of materials and pricing for Sales to fulfill bid opportunities.
• Expedite Purchase Orders as required.
• Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, keeping check on quality and service
• Investigate and determine what/how/why material came in incorrectly or damaged (for non-conformances)
• Assist other Teams and Departments as necessary to ensure smooth order execution.
• Ensuring that the existing and the future vendors follow the statutory regulations in terms of legal, labor etc…when they are directed to perform certain operations in our factory related to packaging.
• Ensure the existing and the future vendors follow the confidentiality requirement…binding them with confidentiality agreement.
• Good rapport & liasioning with quality, projects, and packaging functions.
• Purchase all related capital equipment for production.
• Process Payments and invoices

 
To succeed, you will need  

Knowledge & Interpersonal Skills

• Knowledge of engineered products manufacturing/ packaging and procurement.
• Knowledge of day-to-day sourcing is preferred. Especially, casting, machined components, instruments, motors (LT + HT).
• Proven skills in machine material planning and processes
• Product and packaging knowledge, skills in API 610 pump types and allied products would be preferred.
• Good knowledge of SAP/PLM or any other ERP system.

Educational requirements

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent in any discipline
• Can speak, read, and write in English Language

Experience requirements

• Up to 8 - 10 years experience in Comodity + technology equipment buying.
