The Role

  1. Lead machining capability & capacity set up within PC Qingdao for newly developed AVI pumps (NPI, Project Genesis)
  2. Lead new machining process/technology research and development in support of AVI business growth

What we expect of you? 

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Manage project team to work with global ME/NPI team to research and develop machining process, technical specifications, BOM and routing, quality control plan, layout, material sourcing support, etc.
  2. Take lead to ensure the effectiveness and sufficiency on manufacturing process for NPI pumps’ machining in PC Qingdao.
  3. Define project scope and project targets based on business needs, sorting out project resource plan and make project plan according to each project requirement, and communicate to Sr. Management team, project team members in time
  4. Take lead on project risk identification and make plan on project risk control to ensure successful project running.
  5. Take lead to monitor the NPI product manufacturing process capability, identify process issue, lead team to analysis and fix the manufacturing process issues quickly.
  6. Take lead to develop and promote continuous improvement on NPI machining process, to get effective productivity improvement.
  7. To liaise with related teams to facilitate the smooth progressing of projects in order to meet safety, quality, cycle time and cost targets on NPI products
  8. Take lead to communicate with foreign engineers and related teams in Europe or Korea about product spec and manufacturing process, material sourcing strategy, quality control approach, etc for NPI products in English, both oral and written.

Education level: Bachelor or above

Relevant previous experience:

  1. At least 8 years of experience in machining process. Has experience in pumps, compressors, engines, motors‘ machining on HMC, mill turn, grinder process development is preferred.
  2. Experience in 5S, safety, lean activities in workshop is required.
  3. Experience in leading quality and other improvement projects through multi-department teams is required.
  4. Experience in leading manufacturing process improvement/ quality improvement and other improvement projects through multi-department teams is preferred.

Language skills: Good communication skills, can communicate in both Chinese and English.

Other skills and knowledge:

Well understand and interpret product drawings, structures, technology requirements in English, and work out SOP, communicate these effectively across a broad range of people.

Broad understanding/appreciation of key process and operational areas (eg. quality, production engineering, ta).
