Your Role
Working on magnetically levitated (maglev) turbos means working in a high-tech environment with exposure to the latest developments in aero design, high-speed electric motors and active magnetic bearings. Your role will be to lead maglev turbo development projects from the design phase until the start of serial production.
You will manage an international and multidisciplinary project team and report to the engineering team leader. Depending on the technical complexity of the project and your technical background, a principal engineer, responsible for the technical concept, will team up with you. You, however, remain responsible for delivering the project according to the technical, timing and budget specs.
Product design and test are done in Antwerpen (BE), where you will be located, with occasional travel to our production locations across the globe.
To succeed, you will need
The project leader is a Master of Engineering with at least three years of experience in a product development environment and a proven track record of leading either full projects or substantial work packages. Experience with agile and knowledge-based project management methods is required. Prior experience in the domain of (turbo) compressors or motor design is a plus but not required. Fluent communication in English is a must, willingness to learn Dutch a plus.
The Airtec engineering department’s expectations are:
You follow the internal product development process guidelines.
You are committed to deliver and don’t give up when it gets tough. Red flags are raised when necessary.
Decisions are made based on facts and figures. You make sure all project team members are heard in decision making.
You commit to empowering and engaging all project team members.
