Your Role

What does a project expert do at Atlas Copco Wilrijk? As a project expert you are responsible for the development of new products, conforming to procedures and taking specifications into account such as product cost, performance, budget and timing. Additionally, you maintain existing product designs and suggest ideas for improving their quality.
For this specific role as a project expert you are a part of the engineering department of Medical Gas Solution division. You will be responsible for the development of our condensate treatment products. You report to the team leader engineering.

What does it mean concretely?

  • Project Leadership:
    • Lead the product development from concept to final product.
    • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with business objectives.
    • Oversee all phases of development, including design, prototyping, testing, and production.
    • Manage resources, budgets, and timelines to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Technical Development:
    • Ensure your product meets all required technical, legislation and environmental standards.
    • Oversee the mechanical & electrical design
    • Develop test plan for product qualification during development phase.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead the cross-functional project team meeting including internal stakeholders (marketing, purchasing, operations) and external partners.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure customer requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Master's degree in Electromechanical/Mechanical engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the compressor, water treatment, or related industries
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to oil and water separation is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and English proficiency are required, basic communication skills in Dutch is a plus
