Role Summary
The Joining Solutions Engineer ensures superior customer Self-Pierce Rivet (SPR) mechanical joining solutions that emphasize quality and integrity, supporting clients' platform and program goals. The role requires planning, coordinating, and executing customer application requests and providing data-driven engineering solutions aligned with Atlas Copco’s global standards.
Key Responsibilities
Customer-Centric Joining Solutions:

- Provide high-quality joining solutions that support the customer’s application requirements, ensuring these meet platform and engineering standards.
Process Improvement & Best Practices:

- Implement Atlas Copco’s guidelines to drive process improvements, maintaining alignment and consistency across global teams using joint stream databases.
Application Requirements & SPR Expertise:

- Lead Customer Center (CC) requests with a thorough understanding of application-specific needs and SPR (Self-Pierce Riveting) joining requirements.
Testing & Validation:

- Execute both destructive and non-destructive testing methods for robust validation, ensuring product and process quality.
Data Presentation & Reporting:

- Present technical data concisely and accurately, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations for internal and customer stakeholders.
Global Collaboration:

- Coordinate with international labs and departments to maintain high standards, consistency, and knowledge-sharing across regions.
Program Direction & Leadership:

- Direct and lead technicians and other resources to achieve program outcomes aligned with customer requirements.
- Oversee technical teams in executing tasks that ensure high-quality, timely project outcomes in line with the program's architectural vision.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with COSHH and MSDS requirements in the safe handling and storage of chemicals in lab and production environments.
- Register chemicals on the digital COSHH register and maintain appropriate documentation for hazardous materials.

Essentional Qualifications/Person Specification:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related STEM discipline, or currently enrolled on a relevant part-time degree program.
Skills:
- Proficiency in technical documentation, data analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills for clear, concise reporting.
- Proficient in the use of workshop and laboratory equipment
Desirable Qualifications/Person Specification:
Additional Qualifications:
- Professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or relevant engineering certifications).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Experience:
- Previous experience in the engineering or automotive sector.
- Exposure to advanced joining techniques or materials science.
