Your Role
Maximize the sustainable profitable growth of our Equipment across the territory by promoting sales to new and existing customers and developing the area assigned, in accordance with agreed business plans, representing the VTBA in a manner that all products are promoted.
The role will have a strong orientation towards the sales of Industrial and Scientific products into all application sectors and in particular in the Chemical process industries.
To succeed, you will need
Main Responsibilities:
- Market treatment, focused on assigned customers, in terms of:
- Offer of vacuum solutions and technical support to assigned customers and find new customers
- Input market requirements to BDMs/BLMs / Sales manager.
- Setting-up quotations and negotiate contracts when required
- Answer customer complaints leading coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Definition and performance of strategies for the increase of order intake with particular focus on Chemical process industry (CPI) applications and sharing of best practice and technical know-how with wider team.
- Hold product presentations for customers.
- Development and implementation of the territory plan to drive penetration of Edwards brand in the assigned area. Drive year on year growth in excess of 10% over the business cycles in agreement with industrial and scientific divisions strategies and brand missions.
- Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business targets, managing personal time and productivity.
- Prospecting and lead generation to enlarge customer base in the territory and win market share versus competition. Analysis of competitor's activities.
- Analysis of market potential for new products and applications.
- Development of key relationship within the customer organization to influence investments / purchasing decision making.
- Undertake proposals of assigned products, including the calculation of sales prices by applying the discounts strategy in place and using the appropriate pricing tools. Take lead in negotiations and the construction of appropriate terms and conditions of sales.
- Cooperate with Service sales team to coordinate activities in order to maximize business outcome for Equipment and the Vacuum technique service division (VTS).
- Take the lead and manage the engagement of the appropriate internal Edwards and VTBA stakeholders to deliver excellence to the customers.
- Analyze and provide timely, accurate market information to management, such as pricing situations, status of competitive activities and "red flag" issues related to business in the region.
- Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information by updating the CRM with customer visit reports, opportunities and quotation status info.
- Cooperate with Finance department to improve the performance of receivables & overdue.
- Attend sales meetings with a requirement to present on the territory and ensure that all subsequent action required is undertaken.
- Participate actively at exhibitions.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Degree Level –
- University degree in Engineering or Chemical Discipline
- Vacuum and / or Sales school qualification considered as a plus
- Appropriate native speaker language level for the geography
- Minimum of 2/3 years working experiences in selling Industrial products in the BtB market in the assigned region. Experience in selling Vacuum products and solutions is a plus.
- Knowledge Areas:
- Understanding of what value-based selling intends for Equipment business
- Sound technical understanding and ability to quickly adopt to new products/ technical developments
- Significant technical application expertise (vacuum science knowledge is a plus) to specify the best solution for the customer
- Working in an industrial environment, ideally with engineering background
- Clear understanding of optimized territory management
- Strong sales techniques and negotiation skills
- Good understanding of commercial terms and conditions to mitigate Edwards risk and exposure within the Company rules.
