Reporting to the Engineering Support Manager, the mission of the role is to –

• Be responsible for the end-to-end process for engineered products & non-standard Liquid ring pumps,  Enquiries/Orders, new product/replacement bareshaft Liquid Ring Pump and parts supply for global product companies & end users, including responsibility for timely response to enquiries, pricing, Proposals issue, successful order input & liaising with supplier.
• To provide in-depth technical support to customers, group companies and distributors with instant response and quality service from single point of contact and to maximise Edwards opportunity from each customer contact.
• Responsibility for leadership of Engineered Products Team

Main Responsibilities
 

• The role is that of front-line customer contact for queries relating to Non-Standard Spares, New Build Liquid Ring Pumps and supply to other product companies, including Bolton, also an escalation point for customer care with an underlying objective of increasing sales.
• The role requires a technical knowledge of rotating equipment with experience of vacuum pumps, especially liquid ring pumps, begin an advantage.
• Excellent customer interfacing, commercial acumen, and strong administration and organisation skills as well as a direct involvement in technical sales.
• Technical advice includes maintenance requirements, spares identification and may be pre or post equipment sale.
• Supports growth of the Spares business and internal sales (systems & solutions, multiple produce companies). Setting margins and maintaining profitability.
• Customer interface approximately 5 product companies, 30 European customer care account handlers, 50 worldwide distributors, all Group companies and around 2000 English speaking European customers.
• Functional management of staff involving BOM creation, parts ordering and delivery, dealing with customers queries and requests for quotations.
• Support of sub-contracted production activities related to LRP manufacture driving production progress and schedule planning, working closely with supply chain team.
• MAPICS/SAP transactions, material requisitions, expediting, customer liaison and reporting on status of individual enquiries/orders within the wider Edwards organisation.
• Personally contribute to Edwards’s customer response by dealing directly with the customers as well as providing second-line support to the respective sales/customer center teams.

 
 
 
 
Skills / Experience
 

• Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience in product support or technical sales role.
• In-depth knowledge of the process industry, oil & gas and inductrial vacuum an advantage.
• Inter-personal and communication skills, particularly verbilly to build sound relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Strong administrative and organisational ability with a capacity and experience of detail to ensure that sophisticated computerised systems and procedures are operated reliably.
• High personal motivation to succeed.
• Commercial sensitivity, able to promote trust and integrity in business negotiations.
