Your Role

To study and suggest improvements to implement, own and continuously improve the finished good’s packaging design. Standardize and optimize the existing packaging, propose solutions to make it more degradable, environment friendly, modular and cost effective.

Design corrugated packaging with corrugated and plywood pallets, Drive specifications release 3D and 2D drawings for manufacturing. Participate in Design review meetings and finalization of packaging specifications along with customers. Study and propose alternative materials to replace plastics by eco-friendly materials to provide sustainable packaging.

The detail scope involves –

• Packaging Expert:
  • Aware of different – Basic packaging practices followed across the globe.
  • Handson knowledge of designing corrugated / Plywood / OSB wood packaging using Softwares and capable of deciding specifications of different layers of packaging for different mode of transport like Road, Rail, Sea and Air mode of transport.
  • Basic understanding of load strengths of corrugated & plywood components.  
  • Can develop custom & standard packaging pallets for small medium and heavy products.
  • Understand, identify & suggest various types of eco-friendly packaging materials.
  • Improve overall packaging design to resolve packaging & handling issues.
  • Can suggest & guide how to improve stack ability of boxes during shop floor storing, loading unloading and during transportation and shipping.
  • Prepare 3d/2d drawings for packaging concepts and implement the changes proposed by customers during review.

 
To succeed, you will need  

• Experience requirements:
  • with 5+ years of experience in actual finished good packaging design field and functional and physical prototype building with additional 4+ years of practical packaging experience.

Education:

• • Degree in Packaging Technology / Mechanical Engineering (Indian institute of Packaging/ PVGCOE is preferred)

Knowledge:

• Experience on 3D modeling of finished good packaging CAD and Visual mockup for 3d packaging designs.
• Handon experience in Design and implementation of Finished goods- small, medium and heavy product packaging.
• Shop floor prototyping, Packaging TESTING and prove out experience for Finished goods packaging.
• Different available solutions to improve sustainability like degradable materials, bioplastics etc.
• Inventory classification knowledge, Experience in material handlers, loading and unloading equipment and material handlers Storing racks, floor racks, kitting carts, different storage methodologies in warehouse and Distribution centers like AGV, AMR, ASRS, VSRS.
• Knowledge of Wearhouse management, containerization, Inbound and outbound logistics and use of MES systems in that area is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of kitting and spare parts packaging design and improvements.
• Hands on knowledge and practitioner skills to reduce overall Co2 footprints involve in process of packaging.

Software Skills:

• 3D modelling software knowledge for finished good Packaging design and 2d manufacturing drawings release.
• Understand the strength and Factor of safety calculations involved in Packaging design
• Understand Softwares like Iron cad, Packdesign, Load stack, normal PLM software like inventor or team center and AutoCAD 2017
• MS-Office - 2016

Personality requirements:

• Very good at interaction and interpersonal skills
• Smart working and prepared to work with challenging task and achieving the same within the given timeframe.
• Effective communication in English.

Base location - GECIA Hinjewadi Pune India.  City – Pune.

Travel to customer location for business purpose or long and short term assignment 20%
