In line with the Gas and Process Division’s strategy to further strengthen its product portfolio we are looking for a motivated Development Engineer Screw Compressor Thermo- and Fluid dynamics (m/f/d) who is enthusiastic about new solutions and concepts.
Be deeply involved in new product development and pioneer in process gas screw development.
Inspiring - your new tasks:
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the Gas and Process Division and with complementary specialists in Atlas Copco Compressor Technique organization to develop innovative solutions and designs for gas screw compressors
• Cooperate with universities to ensure state-of-the-art thermodynamic and fluid analytics for your responsibility
• Design and optimize (twin) screw compressor compression geometries by multi-chamber thermodynamic solutions
• Develop and program software tools, software tool components to customize and internalize gas screw compressor design methodology and processes
• Perform structural simulations of deformation by thermal and pressure loads
• Perform 3-D CFD Simulations using ANSYS CFX and validating the simulations with experimental data
• Analyze and evaluate field and test-bed measurements; build up and maintain a database to gather experience, aiming to feedback and improve our screw compressor designs
• Continuously optimize processes and systems
Convincing - what you bring to the table:
• Basic knowledge in screw compressor functionality
• Interest and willingness to learn about and achieve professionalism in screw compressor thermodynamics and mechanics
• Degree in in fluid dynamics Engineering, Process Engineering, or in a related field.
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB)
• Experience with CFD software, particularly ANSYS CFX
• Analytical thinking and a passion to solve challenges
• You are a dynamic, highly motivated person who can adapt quickly to changing circumstances to set the right priorities
• Team Player with strong communication skills and intercultural competence
• Fluent in English
• You are passionate about creating new solutions, new products and new applications and you engage yourself in life-long learning to set the pace of our innovation
