Due to our exciting expansion plans, we are now looking for an experienced and highly motivated person to lead Desoutter team for further sustainable and ambitious growth in Japan. Your Role:

You will have full responsibility of the team located in Japan of Desoutter Business Line (including SETITEC products) for revenues and profit, performance and development of the sales team, recruitment, development of sales channels, digitalization, introduction of new products and promotions, and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will report to the General Manager of Customer Center Japan with a dotted line to the VP Marketing Desoutter in Nantes, CPD Division.

Mission:

Your mission will be to grow the Desoutter business in Japan. The priority is to increase our top line growth considerably whilst maintaining good profitability. You shall increase market coverage, increase customer share and drive transformation so that we become and remain “First in Choice, first in Mind” in all of our target segments.

In this challenging position, your responsibilities amongst others will include:

  • Accountability for revenues, profit, working capital and market share (full Profit & Loss responsibility)
  • Analyze market trends, key indicators, competition, SWOT, market mapping to develop and implement a business plan and sales & marketing strategies that are consistent with the organization’s overall mission and vision, in the short-term and long-term.
  • Leading, coaching and motivating all sales and marketing functions so that policies, procedures, and activities meet the organization’s short/long-term business objectives and comply with regulations and standards
  • Develop and execute a business plan, customized for the local market that is in line with the Division strategy
  • Launch all new products in the connected portfolio to their full potential
  • Development of Team Competence
  • Digitalization in all steps of the sales process and CRM (Salesforce)
  • Ensure good relationships Division Management, Product Marketing, and Application Centre, and involve them in local activities
  • Cooperate with other business lines in order to increase the total business
  • Secure that customer satisfaction is used as business driver in all that we do
  • Key account management and international cross border project coordination
  • Developing and maintaining up to date market intelligence
  • Ensure implementation and compliance to Business code of practice, Trade Compliance, HR policies & Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) initiatives within your team

Knowledge and Experience requirements:

  • Ten years of sales and/or sales management experience of industrial products or similar (both direct and through distribution)
  • Product manager and/or Project manager work experiences as a plus
  • Technically and commercially oriented
  • Comfortable working at all levels of within customer organization
  • Thorough understanding of organizational finance
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Need to be computer literate with standard office systems
  • Fluent in Japanese, business level English is a must
  • Culture competence, preferably Japanese and western culture experience
  • Holding a driving license and have a willingness to travel regularly within Japan

Educational requirements:

University degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration or similar experience/academic background, MBA is a plus
