The Business Controller strives to enhance profiability and contribute to the long-term vision of the company.
Your main role:
- You will work in a motivated and forward thinking team with the objective to drive competitive value creation as technology developers of vacuum solutions by inventing and manufacturing reliable sustainable products and services delivered on time.
- You are responsible for controlling and reporting according to the company’s established procedures, known as the “Way We Do Things.” You present financial figures, analyses, and forecasts during business reviews and board meetings to support decision-making. Monthly, you consolidate results, conduct KPI variance reports, and ensure timely delivery to local management and the division controller. Accurate planning and forecasting, including scenario planning, are part of your duties, involving cost center managers and functional leaders. You monitor CAPEX and OPEX, prepare necessary documents for approvals, and provide guidance to ensure investment standards.
- You implement and improve business controls, ensuring compliance with regulations through training and knowledge transfer. Driving financial improvements and identifying business opportunities are key aspects of your role, providing management information for commercial decisions. Collaboration with the Financial Shared Services Center and VPs Controlling is essential to deliver results and improve financial processes. You develop monitor performance, provide guidance on financial decisions in the product company and prepare financial reports to meet company objectives and identify improvement opportunities. Additionally, you assess financial risks, implement mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with legal requirements and accurate financial reporting.
What we expect of you?
- University degree in finance or business administration
- Fully / part qualified chartered accountant
- Significant financial experience in reporting, forecasting and analysis
- Knowledge of project management process / follow up from a financial perspective
- Fluent written and spoken German & English skills
- Strategic mindset to see the bigger picture and deliver the overall goals of VTIS
- This role will require someone who is very organised, plans ahead, but is capable of being flexible in terms of managing multiple short notice requests and deadlines.
- An effective communicator who considers the needs of the multitude of customers and communicates accordingly at all levels up to senior management.
- Be proactive, making sure that red flags are highlighted, that action plans are put in place when/where necessary and that an open communication with internal and external parties is maintained.
- Have the strong focus on quality, accuracy, deadlines and orderly work and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- High willingness to travel, worldwide
