Your Role

Roles & Responsibilities

• Tender support, negotiate, purchase, supplies, services (of Subcontracted machined items including Castings, Fabricated and other items, required as per Project Specifications and QA requirements, in time with on best Terms
• Work with Machining Suppliers to develop a robust, qualitative and resilient Supply Base to deliver in time with high quality items to achieve OTIF of the Pumps.
• Floating RFQ, Getting Quotations and Negotiating to the best for all type of Machining requirement
• Preparation of Purchase Orders and supporting documentation
• Planning in detail and ensuring activities/steps completed as per the plan
• Planning of Tools, Jigs/ Fixtures, measuring instruments, inspection methodology for the parts being ordered for machining.
• Planning the machining process & educate the machining vendor for the appropriate process for the respective part.
• Ensuring the machining vendor carries out the machining as per the process so as to meet the drawing dimensional and geometrical requirements and getting cleared the parts from CPC Inspection team.
• Supplier Capacity planning and developing new qualitative suppliers
• Preliminary sourcing of materials and pricing for Sales to fulfill bid opportunities.
• Expedite Purchase Orders for effective OTIF from Suppliers
• Negotiating based on should cost and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, keeping check on quality and service
• Investigate and determine what/how/why material came in incorrectly or damaged (for non-conformances)
• Assist other Teams and Departments as necessary to ensure smooth order execution.
• Ensuring that the existing and the future Suppliers follow the statutory regulations in terms of legal, labor etc.…when they are directed to perform certain operations in our factory related to packaging.
• Ensure the existing and the future Suppliers follow the confidentiality requirement…binding them with confidentiality agreement.
• Good rapport & liasioning with Quality, Projects, Engg and packaging functions.
• Purchase all related capital equipment for production.
• Monitoring Supplier Invoice Process and Payments
• Arrangement of hydro testing of various parts at sub vendor end.

 
To succeed, you will need  

Knowledge & Interpersonal Skills

• Hands on knowledge of all type of Machining/ manufacturing processes and technologies – API 610 Pump components manufacturing & hydro testing experience is essential. Hands on experience of should cost calculations
• Knowing the machining vendors base for API 610 Pump parts, maintain rapport.  
• Proven skills in Negotiation, Material planning and processes, SCM Process and Practices, Logistics,
• Product and packaging knowledge, skills in API 610 pump types and allied products would be preferred.
• Good knowledge of SAP/PLM or any other ERP system.
• Knowledge of Global Sourcing and International Trade
• High Level Planning Skills required
• Eye for detail is required
• Good Team Player
• Capable to resolve any issues during parts machining process.
• Understands Business requirement and align himself and make the strategies suitable for achieving business goal

Educational requirements

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Can speak, read, and write in English Language

Experience requirements-

• 15-20 years’ Experience in subcontracting or handling machine shops having conventional and CNC medium & large machines. Handled suppliers for all type of manufacturing and machining including casting, forging, shafts, fabricated items like base plates, discharge heads, column pipes, jacketed casings, etc.
