What is your role at Atlas Copco Group, and what does a typical day look like for you?
I’m a Digital Marketing Coordinator, supporting marketing activities, with a particular focus on our General Industry business line. My role involves planning and executing campaigns, creating content, managing digital channels and supporting with trade events. I work closely with our sales team to ensure that marketing and sales activities are aligned.
No two days are the same, but a lot of my focus is on campaign and content development, campaign analysis and industry research. The variety of the role is what makes it so enjoyable for me.
Which part of your role energises you the most, and how does it connect to where you want to go next?
The part of my role that energises me most is the creative challenge of turning complex industrial topics into engaging campaigns that connect with our target audience in a meaningful way.
I’ve had the opportunity to develop my strategic marketing skills, particularly around campaign planning and account-based marketing, and I’m excited to continue finding new ways to connect with our customers.
What skills do you think are most important for someone looking to enter digital marketing?
Digital marketing requires a mix of creativity and analytical thinking. Strong communication skills are essential because you’re not only trying to reach your target audience, but you also need to convey your ideas to internal stakeholders.
Data analysis, project management and creative design/writing all play a part in the role, but I would say the most important thing is to stay curious and willing to learn. Digital marketing changes quickly and there’s always something new to discover.
What's a campaign or project you're particularly proud of?
One project that stands out to me was a multi-channel account-based marketing campaign focused on the defence and space sector. It was rewarding to be involved in the whole process from research and account analysis through to content development, campaign execution and performance tracking. Seeing strong engagement from target accounts and measurable ROI demonstrated the value of a well-planned, highly-engaging campaign.
What's the best piece of career advice you've ever received?
Early in my career, I was told that the moment you become complacent is the moment you stop growing. That advice has stayed with me ever since. Marketing is a fast-paced and ever-evolving field, particularly across digital channels, so I’ve made it a priority to keep learning, take on new challenges, and push beyond my comfort zone. Looking back, I can see how embracing that mindset has helped shape my development and opened up valuable opportunities.
