Now that you've met Lynne, let's hear directly from her. As an HR Coordinator at Leybold EMEA, Lynne shares what she enjoys most about her role, from building strong relationships with colleagues and organising successful events to supporting sustainability and community initiatives that make a real difference.

What is your favourite part of your role as a HR Coordinator at Leybold?

I really enjoy organising offsite sales and management meetings, ensuring every detail is carefully planned and that all participants are fully informed. It’s very rewarding to see everything come together and run smoothly.

I value the opportunity to travel across the customer centre, such as my recent trip to Brno for an HR meeting. It was a great chance to connect with my European counterparts and experience a different part of the business.

One of the highlights of my role is building strong relationships with colleagues. Meeting members of the Finance team in person for the first time after working closely with them remotely for several years was particularly rewarding and strengthened those connections.

What advice would you give to younger generation of colleagues or those just starting their careers?

My advice to any young person considering career choices would be follow your dreams, but be realistic, and check out the job opportunities in your chosen field before embarking on a degree or apprenticeship. I would also advise to research areas where there is a shortage of skilled professionals and take this into account when choosing a career path.

You’re involved in many initiatives across the Group, such as the Water for All committee and the Leybold anniversary and other committees. What motivates you to get involved in these activities?

I enjoyed being part of the EMEA N+E VIBE team, and participating in all kinds of activities, ranging from employee well-being events to teambuilding days. We have just created a new team called CARE at Leybold EMEA and have started to make some exciting plans.

A couple of years ago, I was given responsibility for Sustainability and Water for All within the VIBE Team, so joined the UK W4All Committee. This has been a rewarding and interesting experience. I have been very touched to hear stories of the communities we support, and just how much difference access to a small amount of clean water can make.

I have raised funds for Water for All by participating in the Kew Gardens 10km run two years in a row. As both World Water Day and International Women’s Day take place in March, I dedicated my run to all those women around the world who walk over 10km a day just to fetch water.
