Making a difference together
RMHC New Zealand provides accommodation and practical support for families who need to travel away from home for their child’s hospital treatment. Having a place to stay close to the hospital can help reduce some of the everyday pressures families face during an incredibly challenging time.
In 2024, RMHC New Zealand provided accommodation and support free of charge to 4,420 families across its facilities throughout New Zealand.
Through the Family Dinner Programme, community groups can support these families in a simple but meaningful way — by preparing a home-cooked meal and helping take care of one everyday necessity after what may have been a long day at the hospital. For our teams, it was an opportunity to contribute in a practical way while strengthening connections with colleagues and the wider community.
Bringing our culture to life in Auckland
On 20 August, employees from Atlas Copco Group in New Zealand volunteered at Ronald McDonald House in Grafton, Auckland. For the evening, colleagues from different parts of the organisation came together in the kitchen, sharing tasks and preparing dinner for families staying at the House.
The experience reflected something important about our culture: when we come together with a shared purpose, we can make a difference beyond our everyday roles.
Continuing our partnership in Christchurch
On 27 August, the initiative continued in Christchurch, where another group of Atlas Copco colleagues took part in the RMHC Family Dinner Programme.
Working together to prepare and serve dinner, the team had the opportunity to support local families while building stronger connections with colleagues outside their usual workplace.
