The Role

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To perform Safe set up and operation of fasten manufacturing processes, including (Forging Heat-treatment, Sorting, collation) Complying to company work procedures and instructions at all times.
  • · To rotate around the processes as production demands require, ensuring you keep up to date with new skill and process changes as required.
  • · Regularly monitor production to ensure it meets the required quality standards on the process you are working on.
  • · Conduct regular maintenance (TPM checks) and support breakdown maintenance as required.
  • · Work closely with the team leader and lead operator to ensure production meets agreed deadlines.
  • · Use overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) as the tool to help highlight potential issues and support improvement activities within the production areas
  • · Liaise closely with colleagues on status of machines, maintenance and quality or on any other related issues to ensure the continuity of production.
  • · Maintain daily production, maintenance and quality records.
  • · Use a forklift truck or ped op for the transfer of raw materials from stores to production area.
  • · Promote a safe work area carrying out regular housekeeping duties
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Company

What we expect of you? 

Education / Qualifications

  • · Experience of working in a manufacturing environment and the ability to follow work instructions/specifications is essential.
  • · Previous experience of visual inspection for cosmetic defects would be a considerable advantage.
  • · A qualification in an engineering capacity would also be an advantage.
  • · Forklift truck licence would be desirable but is not essential

  • Be a good team player with experience of effectively contributing to a team environment as well as the ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
  • · Work accurately and efficiently
  • · Possess good problem-solving abilities
  • · Have experience working in a fast-moving environment and be able to demonstrate good time management and organisational skills
  • · Be reliable with a proven attendance record
