Building a Future-Ready Workforce: The Philippine Service Academy for Field Service Engineers

Following the successful launch of Service Academy in the Philippines, the initiative continues to gain momentum in developing highly skilled professiomals and expanding career opportunities. Supported by its structured training approach and global exposure through the Service Migration Program, the first batch of Project-based Field Service Engineer Trainees under the Service Academy was officially onboarded on June 1, 2026, marking another key step in advancing technical capabilities and preparing future-ready professionals.

The trainees will undergo an intensive 18-month training program in the Philippines, designed to equip them with the skills and practical experience needed for field service operations. This is supported by the Academy’s structured local program, which delivers continuous development through a blended learning approach that combines classroom sessions, e-learning, hands-on workshops, and field-based training to strengthen knowledge, skills, and attitude (KSA).

Upon completion, they are expected to be deployed to the United States, where they will take on critical roles supporting global operations.

As part of their development, the trainees will engage in technical learning while actively contributing to field service activities. These include project execution, equipment installation, routine maintenance, and providing on-site technical assistance, ensuring readiness for real-world engineering challenges.

The initiative is being led by Engr. Niño Dilig, Competence Manager, who has already commenced discussions and training sessions with the new batch. The trainees are currently participating in classroom-based discussions to build their foundational knowledge. Supporting this initiative is Mr. John Kendrick Salcedo, Technical Training Support Engineer, who helps facilitate training activities, coordinate learning resources, and support knowledge transfer, contributing to an engaging and productive learning environment for the trainees. Also supporting the initiative is Mrs. Leizyl Maglente, Senior Human Resources Specialist, whose expertise in talent screening and selection has been instrumental in identifying and onboarding trainees who possess the right skills, potential, and alignment with the organization’s standards. Her contribution ensures that the program is built on a strong foundation of capable and well-suited individuals.

Together, these efforts reflect Engr. Dilig’s vision for the Service Academy and its long-term direction:

“As the Service Academy continues to evolve, my vision is centered on building a future-ready, globally competitive workforce, shaping professionals who deliver value, innovation, and excellence in every service interaction.”

Guided by this vision, the trainees shared their expectations, each reflecting a strong desire to learn, improve, and build a solid foundation for their careers:

Roepfert Tranco

“The onboarding process and equipment provided are of a high standard, reflecting the quality our company represents. I appreciate the team’s dedication to maintaining these standards.”

Cathleen Pecana

“As a Field Service Engineer Trainee, I expect the program to shape me into a disciplined and skilled engineer, equipped with the right mindset, technical expertise, and professionalism needed for field service operations.”

Lance Gonzaga

“I think the Academy is doing a good job of helping us ease into the subject matter rather than bombarding us with too much information. They allow us to fully understand each topic and instill the necessary details, which I believe is the right way to introduce a subject, especially for new Field Service Engineers.”

More than just a program, this marks the beginning of a journey where learning meets real-world impact. As these trainees grow into their roles, they bring not only technical skills, but also the drive to represent the organization on a global stage, shaping the future of field service one experience at a time.
