Future of the manufacturing industry

The manufacturing industry faces challenges. It is important that Flanders - as well as Belgium and Europe - continue to support the industry. The Minister-Presidents's visit was held in that context.

"We are proud of Atlas Copco Group's success in Belgium, but it is important that we remain competitive."

Alex Bongaerts, VP Holding for Belgium

Factory tours

The Minister-President was accompanied by his media and communications advisor. Also present were Bart Steukers, CEO of Agoria, and Kathy Galloy, Expert Innovation & Digitalisation at Agoria. The visitors got  a tour of Atlas Copco Airpower's smart factory where AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), robots and cobots make products together with operators. They also visited the so-called "yellow plant," where portable compressors are assembled. Atlas Copco's electric and the world's first battery-driven compressors were in the spotlight.

"Feel free to call us the ‘University of Compressed Air’ or the ‘Valhalla for Engineers’, but we are much more than just compressors. Our products and solutions are crucial to almost every industry, from food to pharma and water treatment. We are honored by this visit and grateful for the interest in our technology and company."
