Meet our colleagues

Izabella

My position bridges the gap between IT and manufacturing. My role is to make sure my team is working on the right priorities across all smart factory initiatives. This means support in a broad sense: projects, new requests, support for existing applications, etc.

  • Current Position: Product Owner
  • Specialist Subject: Smart Factory
Testimonials IT EN Izabella

How long have you been working at Atlas Copco Group and what positions have you had?
I have been working at Atlas Copco Group since 2017. I was Project Engineer in the Dryers team, Process Engineer in our Assembly & Paint team and now I am Product Owner Smart Factory for Information Services.

What do you enjoy about your current job?
As an engineer with an affinity for IT, I enjoy being able to switch between the factory floor and the IT side of the business (applications, network, cloud, IoT systems). It's great to see and support the latest improvements in Industry 4.0+ in the real world. I also enjoy the challenge of interacting with different colleagues (operators, engineers, programmers, architects...) from different backgrounds worldwide.

What degree have you obtained?
I am an engineer and have a master's degree in Civil Engineering (electromechanics) - Energy from KU Leuven.

Why did you choose Atlas Copco Group at the time? What were your expectations?
I chose Atlas Copco Group when I had recently graduated from university. Honestly, I just had a good feeling about the company after visiting it and talking to several people who worked there.

My expectation was to learn and grow in a multicultural environment and where I could later change positions/departments if I was interested in doing so. I can confidently say that my expectations were met.

What do you like about working at Atlas Copco Group?
What I like about Atlas Copco Group is the horizontal structure and the openness to change and keep learning. Our motto is “there is always a better way”: we encourage everyone to contribute and improve. Everyone has a voice here and that is close to my heart. In my previous position, for example, many of the ideas that were implemented by me and my colleagues came from our colleagues on the shop floor. That involved everything from production line layout to operator interface dashboards.

What projects or tasks are you most proud of and why?
I am very proud that we are able to be stable and consistent in our products while implementing innovative projects. For example, I am thinking of automatic painting and assembly, AI implementations, autonomous vehicles, QRM-Quick response production cells and many others. I like that we manage to keep production running well, yet at the same time look for new ways of working.

How would you describe the work atmosphere?
The working atmosphere at Atlas Copco Group is goal-oriented, but casual. Most people are open to helping out and having a chat.

How is work-life balance for you?
Work-life balance is not just a recruitment strategy, it is actually lived by in this company. With variable hours and hybrid working, we can plan our own working time optimally.

What about education and training? Do you get them sufficiently?
Training is important, but taking your own initiative is also important. At Atlas Copco Group, we can map out our own learning path based on our interests (now and in the future) and our work. I have had the opportunity to take many different courses that have helped me grow professionally.

What growth opportunities do you see at Atlas Copco Group?
We have different types of growth opportunities: horizontally (across departments/functions) or in a particular direction (leadership, expert role, and so on). We always say that everyone within Atlas Copco Group walks their own path.

What would you like to do in the future?
I have no idea! And that's the biggest advantage of working at Atlas Copco Group: I have the freedom to explore different functions, departments and even companies within the Group. My personal rule is to do what I find interesting and where I can add value. I am sure I will be supported in finding my next challenge.

Would you recommend others to work at Atlas Copco Group?
I always recommend joining our Group. We have a great company culture, interesting products/functions and many opportunities within the same company. There is a place for everyone, no matter what background you have!
