
Your role
As a US Trade Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring full compliance with US import and export regulations across the Vacuum Technique Business Area. As overseas sourcing, manufacturing, and regulatory complexity continue to increase, this role is essential to protecting the company from regulatory, operational, and financial risk. You will report to the Americas Trade Compliance Manager. You will have end to end responsibility for supporting US trade compliance activities, including export controls, sanctions, customs compliance, and duty management. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient international trade operations while supporting continuous improvement of trade compliance processes. This role supports the Americas Trade Compliance Manager in implementing and maintaining robust import and export compliance programmes aligned with Atlas Copco and VTBA global trade compliance policies. Key objectives include: Ensuring compliance with applicable US import, export control, and sanctions regulations, supporting the efficient and compliant movement of goods across US borders, and monitoring regulatory changes and translating them into practical processes, systems, and training. Main responsibilities include: Export Control and Sanctions Ensure ongoing compliance with US export control regulations (EAR) and applicable sanctions requirements for the Vacuum Technique Business Area Review export transactions including customer, product, destination, dual use, and end use controls Conduct export compliance reviews and support resolution of issues prior to shipment Create, manage, and maintain US export licence applications in relevant systems Review and resolve denied party, sanctioned party, and export control holds in SAP GTS Escalate potential red flag transactions to the Americas Trade Compliance Manager Customs Support Assist with HTS and ECCN classification where required Governance, Risk, and Continuous Improvement Monitor changes in US and international trade regulations and assess operational impact Support the development, maintenance, and deployment of trade compliance policies, procedures, and work instructions Contribute to compliance training and awareness across impacted functions Support internal audits and compliance self assessments Collaboration and Stakeholder Support Partner closely with Customer Care, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, and Finance Act as a subject matter expert for US trade compliance topics within the business area Support global and regional trade compliance initiatives as requiredTo succeed, you will need

You will have a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience) OR 7 + years of experience in U.S. trade compliance role, and working knowledge of:
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)
- U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- U.S. Tariff Schedule (HTSUS)
- OFAC sanctions programs
- US export and re-export licensing process
- Experience with HTS classification and ECCN classification
- Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business guidance
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple functions and levels of the organization
Preferred Skills and Expperiences
• Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)
• Experience with SAP GTS or similar trade compliance systems (training can be provided)
• Experience supporting manufacturing and complex global supply chains
• Experience developing or deploying trade compliance policies, procedures, or training

Depending where you are located, this role could be offered as a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at one of our offices in the US or as fully remote, enabling you to work from anywhere in the world.
