
Your role
1. Support the Senior Failure Analysis Engineer and Failure Analysis Manager in identifying failure causes by providing data and insights from failure identification materials, field information, SAP, download data, warranty test stands, strip report data, and final test results. Utilize this information to perform advanced problem-solving and detailed analyses to understand failures, and follow the escalation process for complex investigations.
2. Monitor and report potential new failure modes and emerging problem processes, providing evidence to the Senior Failure Analysis Engineer and Failure Analysis Manager to enhance the longevity of vacuum pumps.
3. Deliver precise, high-quality failure reports in the failure analysis system for all products returned to the Service Technology Centre, ensuring timely approval by the Senior Failure Analysis Engineer for customer release.
4. Accurately document failures in SAP and the failure analysis reporting system.
5. Collaborate with Failure Analysis and technical teams to improve root cause identification and support the implementation of corrective actions.
6. When necessary, escalate warranty issues to the Senior Failure Analysis Engineer with appropriate supporting information.
7. Act as a committed and effective member of the failure analysis engineering team, providing information, guidance, and technical support within the Service Technology Centre.
8. Adhere to all relevant laws, policies, and standards to fulfill organizational, safety, and health responsibilities.
To succeed, you will need
- Previous experience within field or on-site servicing, either within vacuum or abatement; or a minimum of 3 years‘ experience within a Service Technology Centre
- Must also have experience in decontamination and parts inspection; or experience in a technical support role
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and service methods
- A wide range of product knowledge across the Vacuum Technique divisions
- Methodical, with strong attention to detail to enable detailed failure analysis investigation to support fact based decision making processes
- Self-directed, with the ability to understand and resolve advanced failure analysis problems and escalates through the appropriate channels when required
- Able to work collaboratively within a team, sharing technical expertise and knowledge
- Understands and uses the appropriate tools and techniques to aid failure analysis work e.g. parts inspection, troubleshooting, quality tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Power BI, Minitab, JMP desirable.
- Proficient in English – written and speaking.
