Atlas Copco acquires UK compressor distributor

Stockholm, Sweden, January 12, 2009: Atlas Copco has acquired Compressor Engineering Ltd., a privately owned UK distributor and service provider for compressed air equipment, with customers throughout the Northamptonshire and Manchester areas.
The acquired company has 39 employees and annual revenues of about MGBP 3.5 (MSEK 40). It offers complete packages in the supply, installation and maintenance of compressors and related equipment. “Compressor Engineering Ltd. is widely recognized as a leading supplier in its regions, and this move gives Atlas Copco the opportunity to expand our business with a company of both long-standing and excellent reputation,” says Ronnie Leten, Business Area President, Atlas Copco Compressor Technique. “Acquisitions of this kind are an important part of our strategy as they bring us closer to our customers and strengthen our aftermarket business.” Compressor Engineering Ltd. will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlas Copco Compressors Ltd. and will operate within Atlas Copco's Compressor Technique business area. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
