Karin Hermansson

I work as a regional business controller at the sales company Atlas Copco Power Technique Nordic, where I have overall responsibility for the Finance Department covering the Nordic area. Some of the things that drive me are the ability to constantly take on new challenges, and the variety in the tasks I perform, and that I work with both numbers and people. In addition, I think it is important to have fun at work and have a good team where you can lift each other and constantly improve and automate the processes.

I was born and raised in Switzerland, but moved to Sweden in 2004 as I like the country's natural surroundings, climate and culture. My journey at Atlas Copco began in 2007 as an R&D controller. Since then, I have had the opportunity to try out several different roles within the group, including in the central finance department, implementing global non-financial reporting, and I have also been an internal auditor. For seven years, I worked for another company, but then chose to return to Atlas Copco as I like our corporate culture and our views on the ability of individuals to develop. I think this is well described by the internal expression "There is always a better way". The decentralized management also provides a great opportunity to take responsibility and influence the development within everyone's area of responsibility, which is personally very motivating.

As a mentor, I hope to be a sounding board who can give concrete advice and tips with my good insight into working life. I also look forward to discussing any thoughts about working life, where I am happy to share my insights and reflections from previous positions.
