Lisa Grunning – Mining & Rock Excavation Technique

Lisa Grunning is an MSc student of production engineering and management at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Lisa travelled to North Bay in Canada this summer, doing her project for the Mining & Rock Excavation business area. The Mining & Rock Excavation summer project was initiated to share best practice of the digital transformation that has been made in the production plant in North Bay. The use of new technique like data analysis in the cloud, traceability, 3D-printing, infrared cameras for monitoring and quality control are a few examples.

Lisa’s task was to map what had been done within the digital transformation in the North Bay factory for securing quality, improving productivity and traceability, and then bring her findings back to the Secoroc division based in Fagersta, Sweden.
