Stockholm, January 15, 1998---Peter Möller, Vice President of Saab Automobile, has been appointed President of Atlas Copco’s Industrial Tools and Equipment Division. He has been responsible for technical development and production within Saab Automobile since 1994. He assumes his new position on February 1, 1998.

Atlas Copco Industrial Tools and equipment, which is part of the Industrial Technique Business Area, comprises the Industrial tools, Assembly systems and Motion-control product areas. The Division, with approximately 1,500 employees, has sales and service offices throughout the world. The automotive industry is a major user of tightening tools and equipment and accounts for a significant percentage of the Division’s sales.

"It is highly gratifying that Peter Möller will be joining Atlas Copco. His comprehensive experience of the automotive industry will provide us with the potential to further strengthen our position in the highly competitive automotive market," says Gunnar Palme, Senior Executive Vice President.

Peter Möller, with a degree in engineering from Chalmers Institute of Technology, joined Saab Automobile in 1986 with responsibility for materials supply. Three years later, he was named manager of car production in Trollhättan and, in 1992, was also assigned responsibility for engine and gearbox production in Södertälje and Gothenburg. He has been responsible for both technological development and production within the company since 1994, during which his projects have included the Saab 900, Saab 9000 and Saab 9-5 models.
